Timing Services
Since 1992, JMS Racing Services has timed hundreds of triathlons, duathlons, road races and other unique events around the nation. We are known for providing accurate and timely results. Nothing is more important to a competitor than to see their time as soon as possible after they finish a race. With our state-of-the-art timing system, it is virtually seconds after a person crosses the finish line that we are able to provide results.
We believe in continuous improvement. Each year, we review current trends and race requirements so that we are able to provide industry leading timing to our customers. JMS Racing Services uses the best timing software and has three different chip timing systems to allow for a complete range of solutions.
If you are looking for the latest in totally disposable chip in the bib timing, we offer the Ultra UHF from RFID Race Timing Systems. High speed or unique application timing is not a problem with the MyLaps ProChip system (formerly known as AMB i.t.). The Ipico Sports Timing system is our basic do all equipment offering. No matter what is needed, JMS Racing Services has the solutions and capabilities to handle the event.

Software by Runscore
JMS Racing Services uses Runscore as the main software for timing events. This software package has been around for more than 25 years and is flexible enough to handle any race timing criteria an organization might want.
RFID Ultra Timing System
More and more races want a disposable timing chip (tag) option. The Ultra UHF was purchased in 2011 from RFID Race Timing Systems to meet those requirements. This system uses a totally disposable timing tag. The tags are placed on the back of the race number bib and require no effort on the part of the athlete. Gone are the days of trying to figure out how to install the timing tag on a shoe or using ankle straps that have to be collected after the run. With chip in the bib disposable tag technology, there are no teams of volunteers collecting chips and the runner simply moves on to the post race recovery area after passing the finish line.

The Ultra System is the perfect timing system for running races big and small. It can handle any size timing point from 16m start lines of a 'major' to a small 2m wide finish line for a local club race.
MyLaps (formerly AMB i.t.) ProChip Timing System
Mostly for multisport events, JMS Racing Services uses the Activ or the ProChip timing system from MyLaps. The MyLaps system is unique, because it was developed with two goals in mind: 100% reliability and high accuracy. This dedication to reliability can only be found in MyLaps active transponder (chip) technology.

MyLaps active transponders have internal long-life batteries that switch on and off as an athlete crosses over each start, split or finish line detection point. Active technology is perfect for higher speed or unique applications like multisport, cycling, inline skating, skateboard marathons and open water swim events.
Ipico Sports Timing System
In 2009, we purchased the Ipico Sports Timing System. While this system is ideally suited for running events of any size, it is also versatile enough to be used in multisport events like triathlon and duathlons. This is our basic do all and "green recycling" timing system offering. With this timing system, any level of disposability that an event would like to use is now economically feasible. For running events, this reusable, low cost timing chip (tag) is roughly half the size of a credit card and is worn on the shoe.

Timing Packages
Basic Timing Package
Our basic timing service package will include: Consulting on timing needs; Assistance at packet pickup for late registration and for chip distribution; Working with volunteers; Race day results collection for the finish line; Race day results printing of finishing times periodically during the competition; The creation of reports for award winners from all categories and competitions; Final result reports, created and posted on the Internet.
Timing Features
Live individual receipt results:
We set up a computer and printer where finishers can immediately receive a custom printed receipt that contains their time, place and other race specifics including split times where applicable. The receipt is similar to what one receives after making a credit card purchase.
Race Announcer Screen:
We set up a computer for the race announcer. An announcer mat will also be set up a few hundred feet before the finish line. As participants cross over the announcer mat, the race announcer will immediately see the competitors name, city, state, division or other information.
Live Finish Line Screen:
We set up a computer for a race announcer or for a large display. As competitors cross over the finish line their name and time will be immediately displayed on the computer screen.
Live online results:
During the event, results are uploaded every few minutes to Active.com Race Results. We set up a link for easy access to the results. They are in a searchable format making it easy for one to find what they are looking for.
Start-line Detection Point:
This will allow for the inclusion of a chip time along with the gun time into the results. A chip timing mat would be set up at the start of the race to capture participant times as they start the race.
Split-time Detection Point:
This will allow for the inclusion of a split time in the results. A chip timing mat would be set up along the route to capture participant times.
Custom logo shoe tags (timing chip):
A unique marketing tool to promote the event, a sponsor or create a coupon. For the cost of the chip and a set up fee you can have the timing chips customized to your specifications. Create a lasting memorabilia from your event.
Inflatable finish line arch:
This 15’h x 15’w inflatable arch will make a finish line much more attractive and the runners will be able to see it long before they reach the finish.
Finish line and mile markers clocks:
We have double sided 8 inch digit and single sided mile mark LED clocks.
